Welcome to the Health Professionals' Services Program (HPSP)
HPSP was established on July 1, 2010 through direct action of the 2009 Oregon Legislature (HB 2345). The purpose of HPSP is to provide a statewide confidential monitoring program for licensed healthcare professionals who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and/or mental health disorder. HPSP has two important goals:
- Supporting public safety
- Assisting health professionals (licensees) with substance use disorder and/or mental health issues so that they may continue working in their chosen profession
HPSP supports these goals through careful monitoring of licensees’ participation in substance use disorder/mental health treatment, random toxicology testing, and workplace safe practice. HPSP resources are paid for by the participating healthcare professional licensing boards and the individual licensee. Licensing boards currently participating in HPSP include the Oregon Medical Board, Board of Nursing, Board of Dentistry, and Board of Pharmacy.
Newsletters, forms, guidelines, and other general program information can be found under the Resources tab. Under the Resources tab you will also find information about when you need to report a health professional to their licensing board. If you are interested in learning about the requirements for entering the program, look under the “Potential Participants” tab. If you are an enrolled licensee, click on "log-in" in the upper right corner and enter your ID and pin to access your case information, to check to see if a test is required and to request additional COCs.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact us at email@example.com or 888-802-2843.
